When I was a freshman, this anthropology course was one of the first courses I had ever taken with FIU. I was eager to learn about various cultures and traditions that existed outside of my own worldview. Attending this class allowed me to think beyond my own personal life experiences and allowed me to think from the perspective of different cultures. Our professor often encouraged us to truly learn and understand what these cultures were and why these traditions were being practiced as they were which helped me engage with the material on a more personal level. I’m grateful for having taken this course so early on in my academic career and will always carry the material that I learned in this class in my heart.
Above is the final presentation we had to present for our final project. It is an anthropological study of Chassidic Judaism. Click to download and view full project.
