When I was a sophomore, I took VIC3400 as a way to fulfill the design requirement toward my degree. I did not anticipate on falling in love with this course and discovering my passion for design. This course taught me the fundamentals of good design, and how to translate good design for a global audience. This was a difficult task to take as many cultures have differences in how they perceive, interpret and process media and design but despite this I had an incredible time learning how to identify these key elements. This class also relied on group work which taught me how to coordinate and delegate group responsibilities in a way that was fair and equal among all participants. Working on a creative project and trying to split it between people in a way that’s equal is difficult to quantify. However, we worked together and discussed each member’s strengths and weaknesses to produce the best works to our ability.
Above is an example of the work we had to produce for this class. This is a story board for a LEGO commercial. Click on the images for full view.
